Facebook fan pages can be set up on practically anything. It could be a product, brand or service, but my favorite type are off the wall ones, like “Sleeping with One Leg Out the Cover” and “Flipping the Pillow to Get to the Cold Side”.

Can you see the viral potential of a quirky Facebook page? One wacky idea can lead to a huge viral following, and lots of traffic. If you sold bedding products, the above examples would be very clever.

According to Facebook, there are already 1.4 million fan pages, which collect more than 1 million new fans everyday. That is powerful stuff, particularly as the traffic for these pages are ready and waiting on Facebook.

Once you create a Facebook page (via http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php) you can get instant traffic to the websites you put onto your Facebook page by clicking the ‘suggest to friends’ link.

Next invite people to join your new Facebook page, as when they join their status will show that “[Joe Bloggs] became a fan of [Facebook page name]” and even more people will see this and join, thus viral marketing is unleashed.

I think that the best approaches that you can take to create viral Facebook pages are the wacky idea, something ‘human’ such as “I like driving in the dark”, or a Facebook page dedicated to things that people are passionate about, like tattoos or piercing.

If you need ideas, then looking at places like Yahoo Answers can give you lots of inspiration. Remember, Facebook users love fun and wacky stuff.

Anywhere a group of people who have a common interest gather together has marketing potential written all over it and forums are no exception. In effect forums, or message boards or discussion groups as they are sometimes referred to, give you a ‘ready made’ market. Here is how to use forums for marketing and tap into the obvious potential that exists with them…
The first step is to find good, active forums in your niche. You’re looking for the ones which are posted to regularly and contain active discussions and debate. There is little point in joining a forum which only gets posted to once every few weeks or not at all.
Once you have found a good forum which covers your subject area you then need to sign yourself up as a user and start participating in the discussions. Look for questions which you can answer, help people and share your expertise. Read around the subject first online to build up your knowledge base.
The golden rule when using forums for marketing is to NEVER come across as a sales person. Don’t go around posting spam adverts – instead join in and participate. Encourage people to private message you and start building relationships with other members of the forum.
Set yourself up with a profile so that people can find out more about you. This is also a good opportunity to include a subtle link to your websites.
If you are allowed to (and it is very important to always check the forum rules because they tend to vary quite widely) include a signature link at the bottom of your posts to one of your websites. Ideally this should link to something like your blog or a good freebie.

Article Your Way Through the Marketing World:Article Marketing to Help in Affiliate Marketing

Article marketing has been around way before online media has been invented. Business establishments have been known to promote their products and services through the written media even before the internet was invented. And with the onset of the internet, online article marketing has become an easier means of promotion compared to its older predecessors.

Not only is online article marketing free (like most of its predecessors), it is non-seasonal (meaning, people can read your articles the whole year round, without exception as to what season your article is most applicable to), and can exist for even much longer than you will.

Many online business pursuits, affiliate marketing among them, have made use of the ease and the accessibility which online article marketing offers them. However, this same ease has jeopardized many qualities good ol’ fashion articles used to have: fun, quality, and creativity, among others. Many article writers have apparently forgotten the fact that their articles are trying to serve real life people, and not virtual search engines.

If you are into affiliate marketing, you are reading the right article. If you are into online article marketing to help you promote your products, all the better. This article will help you outline the qualities your affiliate marketing articles should have to provide the best profits for you, without sacrificing your potential customers’ trust.

INFORMATIVE ARTICLES

The main focus of online article marketing is to provide prospects with information at the click of a button. Your prospects do have a tendency to be impatient, so make your articles concise. Focus your articles on the product features and benefits your readers would most probably want to know about. If you feel you have enough skills as a writer, you might wish to omit some really good information about the product, and write in such a way that your readers might want to read more.

And never forget that not all information are created equal—some information are more beneficial than others, depending on the type of product you are promoting. Some products require a thorough discussion of the features, whereas a simple discussion of a product’s benefits might be enough for other types of products. The prospects should benefit from online article marketing, too, and if you have to, place yourself in your prospects’ shoes and try to imagine what kinds of things they would rather get from your articles.

QUALITY ARTICLES

Article writers nowadays are beginning to forget just how important quality is when it comes to written material. This isn’t to say that you have to be a major in journalism or a Nobel Prize winner in Literature to get to write well. The internet is bombarded with article-writing tips, a lot of which are even focused on online article marketing. If you still aren’t confident enough, you might wish to hire someone else for the job. Always remember that quality, and not quantity, articles will be best for your affiliate marketing venture.

WRITE FUN ARTICLES

How many crowded parties have you been to your entire life? And in how many out of these parties did you actually remember the names of all the strangers who attended? See how easy it is to remember the guy with the great sense of humor, or the girl with great conversational skills? Leave the same impression with your online article marketing efforts. Make your affiliate marketing prospects remember you. They may not buy anything off your hands right away, but the moment you sell them something they feel they need, the chances of them hesitating given their knowledge of your written humor is quite small.

POST IN ARTICLE DIRECTORIES

This might just be the best way for you to get your articles read by as many people as possible. If you do decide to post your articles to as many article directories as you can handle, please have the decency to write articles that deserve that much exposure. Reading a badly written article is, well, bad enough, but having it posted all over the World Wide Web?

No one needs, or wants, a badly written article, all the more, hundreds of the same thing. Do yourself a favor and don’t simply kiss your success in the affiliate marketing world by posting hundreds of useless words online.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZE YOUR ARTICLES

Article marketing is entirely useless if you can’t get people to read your articles. Make your articles easier to find online. Imagine what keywords your prospects are most likely to enter when looking for your products. Establish them in appropriate places throughout your article. And don’t forget the quality of your articles. Never ever forget.

Affiliate marketing has now become a much easier venture to undergo, especially with article marketing aiding its efforts. You can be successful in either of these ventures (affiliate marketing and article marketing) if you work hard enough. Following the tips mentioned won’t hurt as well. Always remember that in the world of business, success is never too far away.

Money can be made in so many different ways online, but
only if you do things the right way, as anyone who is
still struggling will know, there are plenty of
opportunities – but making money from them is harder
than it looks!

Twitter is no different – I am sure that every day scores
or marketers are banned from it for ‘spammy’ practices.

They think that signing up to follow lots of people
then spamming them with links is good business…

It’s not!

I teach you in my book how to use stealth techniques to
get people to see you as a trusted friend while you pull
down sales.

They pat you on the back while handing you their money.

That is the way things should be!

Anyway, with my research I came up with three links and downloaded several free magazines. Remember the word “free” , yes, it’s literallyFREE.

Here are the links:

You can subscribe to several free magazines here

This is one of the free magazine subscription that I got. A free magazine offering practical advice and helpful tools from industry experts to help any website achieve Internet success.

This is another free magazine that I was subscribed and it’s from Oracle.

“Software as a Service Dramatically Improves CRM Success”

Explore the results of this Yankee Group study aimed at determining how on-demand technology can be used to improve sales effectiveness.

Although many traditional premises-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications promise a significant improvement and increase in sales effectiveness, in reality their strength is only in empowering management with a holistic view of the sales process. This has led companies to replace them with newer on-demand, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, but even that isn’t enough.

Gain a deeper understanding of the difference between sales administration and sales effectiveness and the role technology plays in driving revenue.

Jonathon Locke posted at WF about his way of link building and I am sharing it to you here:

The main concept you need to repeat to yourself daily when trying to do SEO is:

“Make it look NATURAL”

Google is probably one of the most complex (if not THE most complex) and sophisticated algorithms anywhere. They can easily see through any link facade you might be trying to run, and they will penalize you for it. As such, building links needs to be done with these 3 things in mind:

1. Start Slow, Gain Momentum
2. Spread Out Your Link Sources
3. Get Your Most Authoritative and Relevant Links FIRST

Let’s start with #1. Apart from movies and news stories that gain thousands of back-links the day they launch, no website launches with that kind of link growth. Even most news stories don’t hold their ranks in the SERPs very long, simply because they get a blast of links, and then that’s it – they don’t have a steady stream of people linking to the website, which is what Google is looking for. What this means for you? To make your link building look natural (and thus make it more effective), you need to start off slow and gain momentum. If you are planning on creating 10 links per day to a website, start off with 1. Then 2, then 4, and so on. A website that starts off with 10 links per day and continues to get 10 links per day doesn’t show the same amount of growth as a website that starts off with 1, and eventually gets a steady 10. It sounds odd, but you have to remember – the more natural looking it is, the more effective (and higher ranking) it will be.

On to #2. SPREAD OUT YOUR LINKS! 80-90% of the time when I ask a new marketer what his traffic strategy is going to be, he/she tells me one thing. “Article marketing”. When I ask why they chose to go that route, they tell me because they will get great traffic from the articles, and it will build back links to their website, allowing them to get ranked in the search engines as well. That’s fine, but if you are concentrating 100% of your efforts into creating and posting articles to Ezinearticles.com or a similar site, you won’t rank well in the SERPs (quickly or easily at least). The reason? Remember, Google is looking for a natural pattern of links – the ideal site has hundreds of different people from different websites linking to that site because it has interesting, relevant content. So when you get those 150 backlinks from Ezinearticles.com, Google sees one site that finds your website interesting and relevant enough to link to. The result? Not very much “weight” in the search engines. You want to spread your links out from many, many sources – here’s a small list to get you thinking:

1. Website Directories (especially the powerful ones I mention in a bit)
2. Article Directories
3. Blogs
4. Competitor Websites
5. News Websites
6. LinkVana
7. Forum Signatures and posts

All of these should be employed in one way or another when you are working on a link-building campaign.

Finally, #3 – Get Your Most Authoritative and Relevant Links FIRST. This is huge, as link age has a lot to do with your ranking in Google as much as anything else. You are going to want to grab your most authoritative and relevant links in the beginning, so that as the months go on and you build more and more links, you will be aging your most important links. Here is a small list of the links you should try to grab early on:

1. Powerful website directories (Yahoo is the #1, DMOZ, etc.)
2. Niche News websites -Try to get the authority sites in your niche to link to you in the very beginning. If you have done your niche research, you should know which websites are the “Hubs” of the niche (where your target customers go to get their news, etc.) This is huge, as relevance is a big part of the Google algorithm, as well as authority – if you can get them both by scoring a link with the powerful sites within your niche, you will do very, very well with your SEO efforts (especially as the links age over time).
3. Competitor Websites – Find your top competitors (the very largest websites in your niche). Get links from them in the beginning (pay if you have to, but make sure they don’t advertise that they sell their links). Let them age. Get high rankings for your website in return, over time.

Once you’ve grabbed as many authority and relevant links as you can in the beginning, start writing your articles, commenting on blogs, making blogs and linking your site to them, making posts in forums linking to your site, grab LinkVana and make some blog posts, get a list of your competitors using SEO elite and contact them for links, etc. Do everything you can to build up a stream of targeted, relevant links to your website, and do it consistently. This will get you above 95% of the competition that is just writing articles, and you will be able to get some serious traffic from Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.

As a little step-by-step guide, here’s a list of what I tend to do within the first 3 months when I create a website:

Have 30 articles created for content

While it may not seem like promotion, additional content is added mainly for Search Engine benefits – when content is added consistently, search engines “see” the site expanding, and thus give it higher rankings (resulting in more traffic). These 30 articles will be created when the site is created, and will be added to the site one every 3 days for a period of 3 months.

Have 90 articles created for submission to EzineArticles.com

One of the main sources of traffic will be from these article submissions – not only will they provide traffic towards the site through the links in the articles; they will also greatly increase the website’s Google rankings. These articles will be keyword rich, and they will be submitted to Ezinearticles.com gradually and consistently over the first 3 months (1 per day).

Submit site to Yahoo, DMOZ, Jayde, and a few other website directories

Remember, high-power links early on. These links will get the site indexed, and over time will significantly boost my website rankings.

270 forum posts with signature pointing to site over 3 months (3 per day)

Each day, 3 posts will be made in popular forums in the website’s niche; with links pointing towards the site in the “signature” of each post. 1 post will be posted in each of the top 3 popular forums in the niche – this will be done consistently over 3 months. This will create some great traffic to the site through forum members, and again will also help to create additional incoming links pointing towards the website (which will help with Google rankings).

All other competitors will be contacted for reciprocal links

After the site is created, e-mails will be sent out to each competing website asking for a reciprocal link. A reciprocal link is a link that points towards your website from their site (a powerful link as they are in the same niche with related content), in return for a link pointing back to their website. This will help greatly with Google rankings. If I’m really planning on marketing a website hard, I will create a third website, and use it to generate 3-way trades with my competitors (thus getting 1-way links to my main website from the competitors).

180 Blog posts on related blog sites without “nofollow” tags, to help linking (2 per day)

I generally use Comment Kahuna to find all Blogs in the niche that does not employ “no-follow” tags on their website. On these websites, 2 posts will be made each day (2 blogs posted on each day, alternating so that each blog is posted on numerous times); creating additional incoming one-way links and increasing Google rankings. These links will be powerful because they will be on related websites (niche blogs), and will often times be on very highly ranked websites. This will be done consistently over 3 months.

Write (2) 150 word blog posts and post onto LinkVana

Basically the same as writing articles, except LinkVana posts your content onto relevant blogs in your niche. Incredibly powerful.

Good Effect of Concise Sigs for Blogs

It is a fact that promoting one’s blog is not the easiest thing to do. Most specially nowadays that blogs can be found anywhere. You can find blogs just about anywhere! Blogs containing various topics and sometimes it serves to be a mini journal. But what’s the use of a blog if no one’s ever reading it? If no one visits your site to read all your entries whether they are informative or entertaining? So what do you do to promote your blog online? Is it really that complicated?

The answer is – it doesn’t have to be hard. Promoting one’s blog can be as easy as redesigning your email signature or sig to your advantage. To make it a promotional vehicle for your blog.

First thing you should remember is that the shorter the sig, the better. A sig doesn’t have to be a mile long. The human memory can only memorize as short as five words so keep in mind that you must never exceed that number of words. Also most importantly, never forget to include in your signature vital information regarding your blog. Information such as the name of your website, the name of your blog and other links that you think will help your blog achieve the maximum number of visits.

Signatures can range from 1 to 4 words. It has to be catchy so that the readers will remember them and as a result they will visit all the links you have posted there. Here are some of the signatures that you can actually use. Take a good look at the pattern shown here to have an idea on how to have a simple yet effective sig to promote your blog.

What is Article Marketing

What is article marketing? It is a form of advertising wherein a business hires a writer or does it themselves to write short articles in the hopes that this will promote their business. These articles are made for distribution and publication which means this can viewed by just about anybody both in the print and online form.

So people will know who wrote the article, at the bottom there is usually a bio box and byline which shows the references and contact person of the one who wrote it. If the reader liked the article so much, they can get in touch with him or her which, translates to increased sales.

Article marketing has been around for quite awhile. Some say this was first used when mass print became available. In the print form, this type of advertising was used by entrepreneurs as a means of obtaining free space. This is given to a newspaper free of charge in exchange for the business’ contact information with the article. Most newspapers are happy to accept this kind of arrangement because their budget was very limited in compensating writers for their work.

The setup is not that different for online article marketing because writers may post their work in different websites as well as put it in their own. Articles that are posted elsewhere are known as an article directory.

The reason why articles posted in such sites are free is because the directory owner puts advertisements on the side and collects revenue from it. As more traffic is achieved, both the directory owner and the writer gain something from it.

Some websites give the writer the option of choosing the kind of advertising to be displayed on the page. If you don’t like the options, you can always go for the page without any advertisements.

There are differences though between printed and online article marketing. For one, it is much faster to look for a certain article online because keywords are often used for search engine optimization. This means if you are looking for a certain topic, you will be able to see what you are looking for in just a matter of seconds.

If you think that the articles posted can only be seen in sites such as www.ezinearticles.com or www.about.com, think again because some have now used social networks to their message across. Examples of sites include Facebook, LinkedIn and Friendster. This strategy is known as Web 2.0 generation.

Some people say that the rise in the number of people who use article marketing has a negative effect because it has brought down the quality in the articles written. To prevent this from happening, you have to post articles that are relevant and informative.

Article marketing is just one way of promoting a service or product. If you don’t have enough money to market it using other means, this will be a good way to get started. In posting elsewhere or in your own website, the most important thing to do is to use relevant keywords so it will be easy for visitors to see your site.

For that, you have to think what words will a person likely type to see your site. If you are able to figure that out, it won’t be long before you will get a lot of traffic which translates to additional sales to your business.
